Surah Yasin Tafsir Series (#1) : Shaykh Allie Khalfe

This is the first of a 90 series Tafsir of Surah Yasin by Shaykh Allie Khalfe.

Shaykh Allie Khalfe who is from Cape Town, South Africa spent 10 years in the company of both Shaykh Seraj Hendricks and Shaykh Ahmad Hendricks (May Allah be pleased with them) and received from them full authority (Ijazah) to transmit various branches of knowledge including Fiqh, Aqida and Tassawuf.

He is the founder and one of the lecturers at the Islamic Text Cape Town institute where he reads various texts including the Jawhara Al-Tawhid of Imam Laqqani al-Maliki, Shafi’i fiqh and the Ihya ‘Ulum al-Din of Imam al-Ghazali. He also lectures at the Madina Institute in Cape Town on the Beginning of Guidance of Imam Al-Ghazali.

Shaykh Muhammad Allie spent time at the feet of some of the foremost scholars alive today including Shaykh Mamud Sa’id Mamduh (May Allah be pleased with him), with whom he read hadith privately, and received Ijazah to transmit from the Shaykh.

He received ijazat in the various musalsalat from numerous scholars including Shaykh Ali Jumua, Shaykh Ahmad bin Muhammad bin ‘Alawi al-Maliki and Habib ‘Ali bin Muhammad bin Ahmad Mash’hur Haddad (May Allah be pleased with them).

At the Azhar Mosque, he spent two years at the feet of the great Shaykh Hasan Al-Shafi’i, then 84 years of age, who is of the most senior scholars of the Grant Al-Azhar. Shaykh Hasan was the first to endorse  Shaykh Allie’s forthcoming publication, a first detailed English commentary on the classic text, Al-Jawhara al-Tawhid.

Shaykh Allie also spent a year in the gatherings of Shaykh Ali Gomaa, Shaykh Muhammad Fathi Hijazi, and Shaykh Hisham Kamil, all senior scholars and all of whom gave their blessings and Ijaza, permitting Shaykh Allie to transmit knowledge from them.

Shaykh Allie holds Ijazah for the hadith of Rahmah (musalsal bil awwaliyyah) which he transmits as the first hadith he heard from numerous scholars including Shaykh Ali Jumua, Hafidh Adab Himshi, Shaykh Ahmad Qat’ani, Shaykh Mahmud Sa’id Mamduh, Sayyid Muhammad bin ‘Abdullah bin ‘Alawi al-Haddad and others (may Allah be pleased with them). He also holds Ijazat for various musalsalat including the hadith of Arafah, Eid, Sibha, Mushabakah and so forth.
