Surah Al-Kahf
* The 18th chapter of the Qur'an, One of the Surah Al-Makkiyyah (سورة المکية), as this chapter named after the incident of Ashabul Kahfi (أَصْحَابَ الْكَهْفِ) or people of the cave.
* Surah Al-Kahfi was revealed to Prophet Muhammad S.A.W on account of some questions posed by Jewish scholars residing in the city of Medina, as to clarify the signs of Prophet Muhammad's truthfulness that being doubted by The pagans of Quraysh.
* Prophet Muhammad S.A.W answered correctly two from three questions, but the remaining one was replied with "If God wills it". After 15 days of waiting, He received the revelation of al-Kahf as an answer to the questions.
* The surah covers four stories, which circulate four different lessons that every Muslim must learn which are:
- The Story of the people of the cave – A Trial of Faith
- The Story of the man who owns two gardens – A Trial of Wealth
- The Story of Musa and Al-Khidr – A Trail of Knowledge
- The Story of the Dhul Qarnayn (A Righteous King) – A Trial of Power
* There are many benefits to being familiar with this chapter as narrated in several hadiths:
"One who memorized the first ten verses of Surah Al-Kahfi will be secure against the Dajjal" – Riwayat Muslim, Abu Daud, Al-Nasa'i & Al-Tarmizi
"One who memorized the last ten verses of Surah Al-Kahfi will be secure against the Dajjal's slander" – Riwayat Muslim & Al-Nasa'i
"Whoever reads Surah Al-Kahfi on Friday, light shall shine forth for him between the two Fridays." – Riwayat Ibnu Katsir
